What is the difference between the ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17025, and ISO/IEC 17065?



One should be aware about the terminologies. ISO/IEC (international organization for standardization/ international electro technical commission). A standard governed by both ISO and IEC. These certification only assured that the international standards are been followed in the respected departments.

ISO/ICE 17025: is design for analytical testing laboratories. Its standards focus on traceability, uncertainty, and appropriation when it will be in used for laboratories with any scientific instrument for the measurement and identification of materials. Is it mainly used for moderate analytical testing related to crime.

ISO/IEC 17020: is designed to verify inspection bodies. Mainly certified for examination of product’s design, only product, installation process, determination to achieve conformity on the professional judgments. Used for specially lifesaving fire extinguisher, fire extinguisher lifts restaurants, vehicle, etc. on annual basis.

ISO/IEC 17065: certified the requirements for product, process and service certification.  The overall aim of this certificate is to establish the confidence regarding process, product and services to all interested one who are going to use this. 
Major aim for this type of certification is to facilitate its customers by providing and international certification and to achieve target market in a proper manner.
